Curriculum

Abeka’s Spiral Curriculum—building from the simple to the complex, with frequent review and application within each grade and from grade to grade.

Our philosophy doesn’t come from what sounds good or from what other people are doing right now. Instead, our teacher-led, character-building philosophy comes from a biblical foundation—Proverbs 22:6a,

“Train up a child in the way he should go.”

There’s structure and organization because that helps students know what to expect—and what’s expected of them—but also because 1 Corinthians 14:40 says, “Let all things be done decently and in order.”

In history, you see God’s hand. In science, you see His design. In grammar, you see His order.

Every subject is approached from a Christian perspective, and you’ll find Scripture and biblical principles used to emphasize or illustrate concepts.

We don’t use any method or materials that haven’t been proven over time—and with children of all different learning abilities.

Your students and teachers won’t be guinea pigs for new educational fads.

Do we test new textbooks and lesson plans before we print them for you? ABSOLUTELY.

We start with proven teaching methods and a biblical philosophy when we develop content. Every time, we go through an extensive research and development process before we consider material good enough for you and your school.

Too little challenge brings complacency. Too much challenge brings frustration.

We aim for just the right amount.

Since Abeka is so carefully developed with proven methods and then tested,

  • Your average students can succeed.

  • Your students who need a little more help can succeed with extra guidance from you.

  • Your above-average students can excel and go on to attain more without feeling that school is boring or too easy.

You’ll find age-appropriate content presented in manageable amounts.

Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment classes through Northwestern State University and Bossier Parish Community College are offered starting the Spring Semester of the Sophomore year. This is dependent on their GPA and must be approved by their teachers. With this, our students often graduate high school with their first year of college completed. Some may even graduate earning their High School Diploma and an Associate’s Degree from one of the colleges listed simultaneously.

TOPS Eligibility

We offer all classes necessary for students to be TOPS eligible upon graduation if they wish to attend college.
